Abstract
The purpose of the Demonstration Project was to prepare adult volunteers
to mentor at-risk minority children/youth. The site team's response was a Twelve-Week Training Series designed to meet this need. The volunteers were given the tools during those weeks necessary for initiating, maintaining and sustaining the mentoring relationships. Its overall purpose was two-fold: Consciousness-Raising and Skills Development
